Airdentifier by Zehnder
How healthy is the air you breathe?
Cooking, working from home, the fireplace, or a party. Everything contributes to indoor emission. Thanks to the Airdentifier, you know with Swiss precision how healthy your indoor air is, and how to improve it.
Did you know this about indoor air quality?
20,000
That's how many times we breathe in a day on average.
2 to 5
That's how many times worse indoor air can be compared to outdoor air.
85%
That's how much of our time we spend indoors.
The Airdentifier makes the invisible visible
Humidity, CO₂, temperature, fine dust (PM10 and PM2.5), and vapours & gases (TVOC) all impact our health. But you can’t see them.
The Airdentifier solves this by making the invisible visible. It continuously measures key indoor air pollutants. The app explains your real-time values in clear language and how to improve them.
All insights in one handy app
The Airdentifier measures humidity, CO₂, temperature, fine dust (PM10 & PM2.5), vapours, and gases (TVOC) with Swiss precision. At a glance, you can see how good your indoor climate is on the device’s display.
The accompanying app shows which factor is affecting air quality. Clear graphs reveal trends, and the app’s advice helps you take immediate action to improve your indoor climate.
The perfect tool for a healthier indoor environment, better living quality, and less exposure to harmful substances.
What will you get?
"Thanks to the Airdentifier, I now realise that what I breathe in is just as important as what I eat and drink. Now I understand why I sometimes felt so sluggish at home!"
— Michael, Apeldoorn
"Since we got the Airdentifier, we’ve become much more aware of our air quality. The LED colours show when it needs improvement, and the app provides the information we need to adjust our habits."
— Jasper, Kampen
Humidity
The moisture level in the air affects comfort. Think about dry eyes, breathing issues, and mould growth in your home.
CO₂
The concentration of carbon dioxide in the air can cause fatigue and headaches. People and pets emit it continuously.
Temperature
Temperature affects how comfortable your home feels and how productive you are.
Fine dust: PM10
Fine dust particles up to 10 micrometers in diameter. PM10 can be harmful to the respiratory system and is found in pollen and vehicle exhaust.
Fine dust: PM2.5
PM2.5 is similar to PM10 but even smaller. These particles can penetrate deep into the lungs and cause serious health issues.
Vapours & gases
Volatile organic compounds (TVOCs) come from building materials, furniture, and cleaning products. They can be harmful to both health and the environment.
How do we measure your indoor air pollution?
There are countless particles floating in the air around us. Sometimes you can smell them, rarely see them, and even less often notice their effects on your health. So how do you know if your air is healthy? The Airdentifier continuously measures six key values using the same sensor technology found in space applications.

Frequently asked questions
▶ Why is good air quality important?
Just like food and drink, the air you breathe affects your health. Air quality has a big impact on how you feel. You sleep and concentrate better in a room with fresh air. Even in the long run, air has a major impact on your health.
▶ Why is indoor air quality so important?
Indoor pollutant concentrations can be two to five times higher than outdoor levels. Substances like VOCs (volatile organic compounds), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and fine dust can be harmful, especially when trapped indoors. This makes continuous monitoring of air quality especially valuable.
A study by Brasche & Bischof (2005) states that, on average, people spend 85% of their time indoors. This means that indoor air quality has a very significant impact on our health.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), about 8 million people die every year from air pollution, of which 3.8 million die as a result of indoor air pollution. Based on this, the Correspondent says: ‘Not smoking, not traffic, not war - polluted air is the world's biggest killer’.
▶ Can I place the Airdentifier in any room?
Yes, the Airdentifier can be used in any room. As the advice given is related to the room you selected in the app, we recommend you update the room where you place the Airdentifier in the app as well.
Thanks to the extra long and flexible USB-C cable (180cm), you can place the Airdentifier wherever you want. Should you want to temporarily use it wirelessly, you can do so for up to six hours thanks to the built-in battery.
▶ Does the Airdentifier clean the air?
No, the Airdentifier is a measuring device, not an air purifier.
The app will give you advice you can use to easily improve your indoor climate yourself.
▶ How accurate is the Airdentifier?
The Airdentifier's sensors are of professional quality and are even used in space applications. More costly than an average sensor, but therefore much more accurate, reliable and durable.
▶ Where can I order the Airdentifier?
The Airdentifier is available in the Zehnder webshop. We ship the Airdentifier within two working days. Find more information in the shop.
